Burnt Sky Apothecary began the same way many meaningful things do—at home, out of necessity, love, and a desire to do better for my family.
I didn’t grow up using herbs.
I wasn’t raised in a home of natural remedies or holistic traditions.
I was introduced to this world later—and once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it.
Learning about the realities of our food system, the limitations of reactive healthcare, and the ingredients we’re often told to trust changed everything. The more I learned, the more I realized how disconnected we’ve become from the basics of everyday wellness. And once I understood that I couldn’t unknow it.
Burnt Sky Apothecary began at home, not as a business plan, but as a response.
I was a mom trying to support my family’s immune systems in a way that felt honest and preventative, not rushed or reactive. I started making elderberry syrup and fire cider in my kitchen using whole herbs and real ingredients—things I could recognize, understand, and feel confident giving daily.
At the same time, I needed to bring in income.
With no formal background in business and no intention of becoming an entrepreneur, I became an accidental business owner—a mom with a passion, a growing skill set, and a desire to build something sustainable for my family. I shared what I was making, and people felt the difference. The feedback was consistent: stronger formulas, better flavor, and remedies that actually became part of daily life.
That’s when Burnt Sky Apothecary took root.
Every product is made in small batches to protect quality, potency, and integrity. I use whole herbs, raw honey, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, often working with local farmers to keep ingredients fresh and to keep dollars circulating within the community. My elderberry syrup is crafted with a higher herb-to-liquid ratio, and my fire cider is layered, warming, and balanced—powerful yet approachable.
These are time-honored remedies, made for modern families.
Burnt Sky Apothecary is also a statement.
It’s for women who didn’t plan to become business owners—but became them anyway. For stay-at-home moms, caregivers, and women who support their families while building something meaningful. For those who believe in the duality of creating a home and a business, of nurturing others while stepping fully into their own capability.
The name Burnt Sky Apothecary is an ode to my children and the life that inspired this work, but the mission reaches beyond my own home. It’s rooted in the belief that healing starts at home—through daily rituals, intentional choices, and products made with honesty and heart.
